Church Officers

  • Reuben Mann

    Church Elder, Pastor

Reuben has served full time as our pastor since we started in 2015. Reuben used to work as a civil engineer designing water networks. He then trained on the staff of St Ebbe’s Church in Oxford and studied theology at Oak Hill College in London. He enjoys sport (mainly from the armchair!) with friends and bike rides with his wife, Hannah, and their three children.

  • Bruce Evans

    Church Elder, Safeguarding Officer

Bruce discovered the real Jesus by reading the Bible and would love it if you did too. He’s married to Mairi and they live in Pewsey. He enjoys cycle touring, the park run and evaluating church cakes! Bruce enjoyed his career as a pilot but having retired he considers his service as an elder at Emmanuel a much higher calling! Bruce is also our Safeguarding Officer.

  • Graham Hilton

    Church Elder

Graham spent 30 years in various jobs in the computing industry from design to marketing. During this time Graham and his wife Christine lived in Reading where they brought up their two sons and served at Carey Baptist Church. They retired initially to Whitby where Graham served as CEO of publishers Evangelical Press and then to Pewsey in 2017. Graham and Christine are keen gardeners and serve at Pewsey Country Market.

  • Michael Prest

    Church Elder

Michael and his wife Rachel have lived in Marlborough since 2017 with their four children. After working in pharmacy management with Boots, Michael has experience of Christian ministry with Rachel in South East Asia and as a pastor at Beeston Free Church in Nottingham.  Michael is Director at the mission agency UFM Worldwide. He hedges his bets by supporting both Darlington FC and Liverpool FC!

  • Caroline Iliffe

    Secretary

Caroline joined Emmanuel Marlborough in 2016. She has previously worked abroad in West and Central Africa and Haiti with Christian international aid charities, mainly in disaster management. She is now settled in Ogbourne St George with her husband Olly, and manages disasters of a different kind with her two young children! Caroline also enjoys playing the piano and helping with the Little Friends Toddler Group.

  • Ruth Fleming

    Deputy Safeguarding Officer

Ruth joined the amazing Emmanuel Church family within its first year in Marlborough. She lives with her husband Jon in Ogbourne Maizey and have two grown up children, Thomas and Alice. Ruth is involved with Reading for Marlborough (reading newspapers for the blind), and her hobbies include cooking, gardening and travelling as well as keeping fit through walking and yoga.

  • Peter Keighley

    Treasurer

Peter joined Cadbury Schweppes and after 7 years, he saw a light and decided he was going to be a teacher. He also saw the Light just after this when he attended a Billy Graham talk. He has never looked back since. He has now been at Marlborough College for a rather long time where he teaches Business and runs the fencing (not posts). He lives with his wife, Andrea, and two daughters. Emmanuel (Marlborough), his wife and family have been joyful answers to prayer for him.

Ruth has been part of Emmanuel since she, and her husband Simeon, moved to the area in 2016. They have two children who are now both at school. Ruth loves to be with children and to have opportunities to share the gospel with them and their families. She also enjoys walking, singing and bits of anything really!

  • Charlene du Preez

    Administrator

I am originally from South Africa and I relocated to England in 2017 with my husband, Jaco. We lived in Kent and moved to Wiltshire in September 2022. We are parents to a Boston Terrier. I used to be a professional track cyclist; I retired my career in 2021. During this journey the Lord allowed me; I became a true born-again believer in Jesus, my Saviour. I enjoy the outdoors, running and summer road cycling rides. I also enjoy making skincare products in my spare time.
